Dominion is the first ever anthology of Speculative fiction and poetry to call for and publish works of fiction and poetry by some of the finest speculative fiction writers from both Africa and the African diaspora. The anthology contains 13 works from 12 writers; 12 fiction pieces and a poem. It also has an introduction from Tananarive Due. Dominion Anthology contains original works; one novella, three novelettes and five short stories. The novella, Ife-Iyoku, Tale of Imadeyunuagbon is free to read here. It also contains reprints; a novelette and two short stories. The anthology is available for purchase in all formats and most of the online book stores here.
Eligible for Awards:
Firstly, the two editors, Zelda Knight and Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki are eligible for the Hugo awards Best Editor, short form category. Zelda Knight is eligible, having run a small press, and several pro mags that paid the SFWA pro rates at a point and published dozens of magazine issues. Oghenechovwe on his part, has co-edited with her in 2020 alone, two issues of the Invictus Quarterly, one issue of the Selene Quarterly, and the Dominion Anthology, making him qualified as well.
The anthology itself is eligible for the anthology category in the Bram Stoker Award and the World Fantasy Award.
Ife-Iyoku, Tale of Imadeyunuagbon by Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki, an 18k word post-apocalyptic, African speculative fiction, sci-fi, fantasy novella, which is available to read for free here is eligible for the Hugo, WFA, Locus and Nommo, and Sturgeon awards, novella category. Also, the BFA awards, the long fiction category. It made the Locus and Nerds of a Feather recommended reading lists and was shortlisted for the BSFA award, as well as a finalist in the Nebula Award.
