So I just won, & will be the first Black person to win the Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine reader’s award, with my short story Destiny Delayed, which was also a Nebula, finalist and British Science Fiction award nominee. It’s been translated to Chinese and Italian, and will appear in Science Fiction World (Chinese), Robot Mag (Italian), Apex magazine, and the Year’s Best African Speculative Fiction anthology volume 2.

Asimov’s mag was founded in 1977, and has been running for going on five decades. The Asimov’s readers award poll has been running since 1987, near four decades, and has been won by many other amazing science fiction writers like Isaac Asimov, Kevin J Anderson, Ursula K Le Guin, Ken Liu, Connie Willis, Michael Swanwick, Mike Resnick & others. Considered the most prestigious Science Fiction magazine, it has also published Octavia Butler & many other luminaries of the genre.
